Ask away!
We’ve got answers. Your client has sustainability commitments and you need a hand making it happen? On it. It makes you sick to see bags and bags of garbage going from your set to the landfill? Yeah, same here. Let’s tag-team and save the planet!
So what exactly is “Sustainable Production Consulting?”
Sounds fancy, right? If your company or organization has made environmental commitments (i.e. offsetting your carbon footprint, reducing landfill waste, energy savings, etc), because it’s required by law, something you do for tax benefits, or you just want to save the earth, we’re here to help! We’ll ensure you are set up with the right training, vendors, and supplies for a fully sustainable set. We’re a women-owned business that supports video productions of all sizes. Whether it’s a small photo shoot, a big commercial production, or a feature-length film, we’ll be there every step of the way, advising you and your crew, measuring your success, and documenting everything in a final report you can use for your taxes, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting, and more.
Green Team, Ski Team…what’s the difference? Is it the same team?
Green Team is an initiative of Ski Team – it’s one of the many video production services offered by Ski Team. We’re all on the same team, but everyone on the Green Team has been trained to meet sustainable production standards. Ski Team is also a certified woman-owned business, built on a collaborative approach to creative production and responsible business practices.
What does it mean to be a Green the Bid-certified sustainability consultant?
Green the Bid is a nonprofit organization, educational resource, and global community dedicated to helping the advertising and production industries adopt more sustainable environmental practices. As a Green the Bid-certified sustainability consultant, Green Team follows industry-leading standards and best practices developed by one of the world’s foremost advocates for sustainable film and commercial production.
Green the Bid is helping drive the transition toward zero-waste, low-carbon, sustainable, and regenerative production practices. Our certification demonstrates our commitment to reducing environmental impact while helping clients make smarter, more sustainable decisions throughout the planning, production, and post-production process.
You said you’ll take out the trash? Really??
Well…yes! But we will work with you to produce the smallest amount of trash possible. Our mission is to donate, reuse, compost, and recycle as much as we can (at least 90% of your total waste to be exact!) At the end of your shoot, the goal is that the vast majority of on-set waste is converted into fertilizer, donated to the community, repurposed by local artists, or remanufactured into new products.
So does this mean we need to shop around for all sorts of new equipment and production supplies?
We’ll take care of that for you! Compostable plates and utensils? We’re on it! Bins, signage, water stations, and anything else that will divert waste from landfills on your set are all things our team can source and provide for your video production.
I’m worried that my crew won’t know what to do with all the new procedures on set…
That’s why we’ll be there to help! We have general language for your call sheets and specific directions for each department of your video production. We’ll be on set with signs and instructions that make it easy for everyone to separate compost, recycling, and trash. We are a resource for you and your crew so running a sustainable video production set is one less thing you have to worry about. Consider it handled!
